Our annual INSPIRE & IGNITE event, which we held on April 16, celebrated the expression of youth experiences after attending Child Advocates’ two-day Community Education and Training workshop, which we host for both for youth and adults.
The workshop recognizes and honors the importance of creating a society that promotes belonging, safety, and opportunities for everyone. We want to help build a better future for every child.
At INSPIRE & IGNITE, we had the unique experience of watching young people display their talents through poetry and art to help tell their individual stories of the impact and growth they’ve experienced after engaging in our workshop.
And on the night of our annual event, we heard and saw beautiful, original, and meaningful art coming straight from the hearts of youth from every ethnicity, background, and life experience.
One student said, “My artwork represents the idea that all of us, no matter our hair texture, complexion, or background, are equals upon conception and entering this world.” Because of our sponsors, partners, and volunteers, we raised more than $30,000 at this year’s annual event to help support our programs for vulnerable children and youth.
And those who attend our workshop come from all walks of life and have conversations that help create communities where every child can thrive and there are no barriers to their success.
